Now this may be anticlimactic for some of you but let me tell you. After opening 200+ packs, this made the whole thing worth it for me. Finally....the pièce de résistance...after the jump...

1/1 Yellow Printing Plate of Starlin Castro's 1977 Cloth Insert!!!

Best card I've ever personally pulled that I would keep myself and not immediately try to hawk to the highest bidder. Only thing better in this case would have been the Ryne Sandberg Mini Autograph and this might even trump that right now. This came a few packs from the very end so it gave me a good boost of energy to power through and keep scanning and posting all day. Last box had 4 Cubs inserts, not too shabby.

Thanks to everybody who participated and followed this break throughout the day. I promise the videos are coming ASAP. Next time I am not using my HD video camera because these files take foooorrreeeeevvvver to load.

One more post tonight and then Sunday's post will provide a complete breakdown of the case. Don't miss it!

  1. Nice pull! Always cool when the super-awesome card that you get is actually one that you want to keep, and you don't immediately start looking for somebody else to take it.

  2. Wow, I've never pulled a printing plate or any other 1/1. To have it be a Cub? That's awesome!

  3. Like I said, probably the best card I have ever pulled that I'm keeping myself (I did a group break for GQ earlier that yielded a 1/1 Jose Bautista printing plate but it went to the Blue Jays guy). The only better cards I have (mostly Sandberg 1/1's and autographs) were all purchased or traded for.
